Sally Stevens has been a docent at the Oakland Museum of California for twenty years. She will share what she has learned and discovered about her ancestors who arrived in California and settled in San Francisco during the Gold Rush Era.

"USING THE NEWLY REVISED FAMILY SEARCH WEBSITE" - Speaker, Ralph Severson
Several members have mentioned having difficulty searching the newly revised FamilySearch.org or using the new computer system at the Family History Library.
Help is on the way, folks!
Ralph Severson is the director of the Oakland Family History Library. He will tell us all about the newly revised FamilySearch.org website and how to navigate it for the best results. He will also fill us in on the new Family Search Wiki and upcoming FREE online classes available through Family Search "LEARN".
There are an abundance of new digitized records soon to be available, plus a Family Tree program where everyone can participate. Also, online film ordering will soon be available, much less expensive, and the films will be availale to you for 90 days.
Bring your notebooks! This promises to be a very interesting and informative meeting.

Born Irish, but where? Cath Madden Trindle will help us uncover clues to the origina of our Irish ancestors in U. S. Records. She will give us an overview of Irish civil registration, church census records, and online and printed resources for finding 19th century Irish ancestors.
A certified genealogist, Cath Madden Trindle will gladly share her knowledge and espertise in tracing Irish ancestors.

WRITING A BOOKLET ABOUT YOUR ANCESTORS
Speaker will be our member June Lindquist. She will tell us about discovering a large box of papers and documents dating from the 1850s pertaining to a great, great grandfather's life and how this aroused her curiosity and interest in genealogy.
June will explain how she and other family members sorted evidence and proofs into a booklet. She will discuss the convenience of computer sources, computer government sources, and gathering material from far flung and unknown cousins to sketch together family evidence. Great, great grandpa turned out to be quite a colorful character. This is going to be a delightful meeting.

Richard Hansen was with the San Francisco Fire Department photo unit for ten years and is presently the director of the City of San Francisco website: SFMUSEUM.ORG, an award winning website begun about 1990.
Richard will explain how the website works and how to navigate it, The website contains much information on family history and is used ften by people doing family history research.
