Mary's search through English graveyards, family records, library archives, and personal journals took six years. She will take us on this "genealogical mystery tour" in pusuit of her maternal grandmother, Eileen Maude Hopkins.
Mary Ames Mitchell is an accomplished author of several books. She has spoken at our meetings in the past and we anxiously look forward to her visit with us once again.

FUN, GAMES AND COOKIES TOO!
Time for our annual "Holiday Cookie Exchange" where each member brings a batch of their favorite cookies to share. Be sure to bring a container to take home samples of the goodies!
We would welcome hearing about your latest success - have you recently solved a "Brick-Wall" problem in your research?
We will also have some fun with "Family Gathering". A game that lends itself well to genealogy and generates some interesting tales.
Please come and join the fun. Guests are always welcome.

TRACING FEMALE ANCESTORS - Speaker, Janice Sellars
There is no doubt that one of the most perplexing problems genealogists face is tracing those elusive female ancestors. Janice Sellars will share many tips and ideas that can help us find those women!
Janice is a professional genealogist with many years experience. She has volunteered on the staff at the Oakland FHC for over eleven years. We have appreciated and learned from her previous programs at our meetings and we are looking forward to having her as our speaker once again.

RESEARCHING IN PENNSYLVANIA
Speaker - Richard Ferman
Many of us have been looking forward to a program on PA Research. Richard Ferman has been on or program before and we are eagerly awaiting his return. He has many research books on PA that he is anxious to share with us, along with his experience in this area. He will discuss Southeast PA, Pittsburgh and Alleghany County. Pennsylvania can be a problematic state in which to accomplish genealogical research. This should be a very resourceful meeting for those who wish to trace their ancestors in Pennsylvania.
